Pre-K “Nest”

Pre-Kindergarten: A Warm and nurturing “Nest” for your little one.

Ages 2.5 – 4

Nest Tuition and Fees
Because this young age is a time when most children are first coming out of the home, the rhythm of the Nest is gentle, slow, and intended to give the child security, and a sense of being part of a family.  Everything is done in small doses, which is easier for the young child to take in, and slowly, allowing the child to find his or her own pace.  The morning naturally flows between social and individual activities that reflect a child’s need for both active and quiet play. Through patience, gentleness, and a calm presence, the teacher establishes a secure, inviting, and joyful atmosphere. This feeling of respect and peacefulness allows young children to explore their environment and begin the lifelong process of engagement with the world.
The rhythm of the day begins with playtime outside, grounding the child and easing the transition from parent to teacher.  The class will make their way to the room for purposeful work and play, story time and a warm nourishing snack.  Our class will also end outside with seasonal gardening and time to run and play.
Both you and your child should be comfortable separating from each other for a happy Nest experience. If you are unsure if your child is ready for Nest, please set a time to discuss the possibility of enrollment with the teacher.  Children should be comfortable using the toilet, and well on their way to toileting independence.
Enrollment for the Nest program is limited to keep the class small and comfortable. 10 students maximum with two teachers.
